Mary Douglas has been employed with Akron Children’s Hospital since 2005, serving as the Director of Grants Administration since 2009. She is responsible for the submission of nearly 100 grants per year, and has been successful in raising over $28 million grant funding for the hospital. She has over 30 years’ experience in the non-profit and public health arena.
Mary is a graduate of the 23rd class of Leadership Stark County. She has served on the board of directors for Siffrin, the Autism Society of Greater Akron, the American Red Cross, and the YWCA (LaCrosse, Wisconsin). She served the youth of her church both as a program volunteer and as an adult leader for four week-long mission trips in various parts of the U.S. She received her B.S. degree from Kent State University, her M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and holds an Autism Spectrum Disorder from Kent’s graduate studies.
Married with four children, she lives in North Canton. She enjoys cooking, gardening, photography, camping and kayaking with her family.
