“Whole Latte Love Café’s vision is a world where people with disabilities live their best lives through fulfilling employment, meaningful relationships, and community engagement”
[Beth] My name is Beth Humbert and I’m the founder of Whole Latte Love Café, which is a vocational training program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program was designed around my daughter and her needs. She has recently graduated from high school, so I’ve discovered that there aren’t a lot of vocational options available to people with disabilities out there, and I felt like it was important to provide another employment option for her and for her peers.
[Lucy] Hi. My name is Lucy Rose.
[Caroline] I’m Caroline.
[Nick] I’m Nick Dole.
[Lucy] I was born in 1996. I was special in my own way. I had Down syndrome, and that didn’t stop me for who I am.
[Beth] I created a supported employment vocational option for them in a customer service setting; teaching those independent skills so that one day when they’re ready to leave the nest, they’re ready. They’re empowered.
[Nick] You don’t look at our disability for what we can’t do, it’s what we can do.
[Beth] They have a resume, and they have customer service and soft skills; and they can move forward, and I can help them transition into the community for a competitive employment position. Those are some of the goals anyway of whole lotta love café.
[Caroline] It’s gonna be so much fun and I like it a lot.
[Beth] But people come in for a cup of coffee, they come in for a hug and a smile, and learn a little bit more about our mission.
[Lucy] I live in the community. I want to work in the community. Because I am that community. Thank you.

Whole Latte Love Cafe, Inc. is similar to other coffee/smoothie shops ~ it has the aroma of coffee brewing, the glass cases are filled with pastries, muffins & bagels and one can observe folks enjoying casual conversations. Yet the atmosphere inside Whole Latte Love Cafe exists to provide a path towards greater independence with on-the-job training experiences for persons with disabilities (PWD), and create options for individuals who wish to work and lead more productive lives.
