Our mission is to inspire a more inclusive community by offering a variety of vocational opportunities and a direct vocational path to community employment. Since the Café officially opened in 2022, we have hired more than 30 people with an intellectual and/or a developmental disability. Our priorities are to teach work readiness skills, engage with the community, and change the way people view other people by bringing inclusion into the workplace.

Every sponsored shift opens the door to employment for someone who has fallen through the cracks.
Some individuals don’t qualify for a Medicaid Waiver. Others have tried again and again to secure a job on their own, only to have doors close before they even have a chance.
Your support gives them that chance — the chance to work, learn life skills, feel independent, and finally be seen for all they bring into this world. With your generosity, no one is turned away. By creating additional job opportunities for this underserved population, you become part of the story that changes lives.
Shift Sponsorship Levels:
- $50 — sponsors one shift
- $220 — sponsors one shift for an entire week
- $1,000 — sponsors one shift for an entire month

At Whole Community Academy, we believe every adult deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to their community. Our mission is to inspire a more inclusive community by offering specialized academics and hands-on vocational experiences for differently-abled adults.
Participants don’t just learn in a classroom — they explore their strengths and interests through practical experiences: practicing money skills, following recipes with teammates, visiting community employers for job shadows and informational interviews, volunteering, and engaging in paid internships. Along the way, they build a professional portfolio, develop job-seeking skills, and gain confidence navigating the path to meaningful employment.
