Why did you choose to serve Whole Latte Love Cafe?
I have been impressed with the mission and operations of WLLC since its inception and want to support its growth and future expansion. I have been volunteering through one of the cafe’s
committees and see that the cafe provides critical services to both the individuals it supports and the general community. I believe serving on the WLLC board will allow me to take a more
active role in supporting these services and the cafe’s future expansion.
What do you bring to the table?
I have had a 40 + year career in supporting and advocating for individuals with exceptionalities, from my role as speech pathologist in various intervention programs, working as an
intervention specialist in K-12 classrooms, community programs, adult community- based programs, and regional support teams, and teaching at two universities in which I held various
administrative roles, developed several inclusive programs and taught intervention coursework. I believe my experiences taught me how important it is to respect the dignity of each person as
an individual, collaborate with families and community members, and use person-centered planning to advocate and provide the best supports for every individual.
